Ron Beuzenburg
Ron Beuzenburg is a figurative sculptor living in New York City.
He is committed to sculpting the figure and ubiquitous beauty of
nature. Dance is a strong influence on his work, both thematically
and by heightening his understanding of anatomy, gesture, and movement.
This knowledge infuses his work with a dynamic quality that challenges
the inherent static nature of sculpture. Although he works exclusively
in terra cotta, his sculptures are ultimately transformed into bronze.
In addition to his series on dance and dancers, he is concurrently
working on a series of jesters as metaphors for the human experience.
He is a professional member of the National Sculpture Society,
an Exhibiting Artists Member of The National Arts Club, a member
of the Allied Artists of America, and of the Audubon Artists. In
1997, he was awarded the Gold Medal of Honor for Sculpture by the
Allied Artists of America, Inc. Beuzenburg has also exhibited at
The Butler Institute of American Art in Youngstown, Ohio, Brookgreen
Gardens, SC, the Erlich Gallery in Marblehead, Mass., and The Washington
Ballet.
