Helen
Rudy is a "painterly realist", working in oil, pastel
and acrylics. She teaches students to interpret, not copy, what
they see. She received a BA from Hunter College, New York,
studied at the Ridgewood Art Institute and the Art School
of Northern New Jersey.
She holds elected memberships in prestigious art organization-the
Allied Artists of America, Hudson Valley Art Association,
Catherine Lorillard Wolfe Art Club, Kent Art Association,
American Artists Professional League and the Audubon Art Association.
She has won awards from juried shows at the Catherine Lorillard
Wolfe Art Club, Audubon Art Association, Hudson Valley Art
Association, American Artists Professional League, Allied
Artists of America, Kent Art Association, Suburban Art League
and the Community Art Association.
She has exhibited at the Butler Institute of American Art
in Youngstown, Ohio.
She serves on the Board of Directors of Allied Artists of
America, Hudson Valley Art Association and the American Artists
Professional League.
She was a teaching assistant at the Ridgewood Art Institute
and a monitor at the Art School of Northern New Jersey.
She was Juror of Awards at the Art Centre of Northern New
Jersey, at the West Essex Art Association and the Community
Art Association in Allendale, NJ.
Her paintings hang in private collections.
