MEMBERSHIP
Membership in the Allied Artists of America, Inc.
is by invitation only. Each year, it is the task of the Membership
Committee to select a limited number of candidates, usually from
artists participating in the Annual Exhibition and , on the basis
of well established achievement, propose them to the Board of Directors
for membership. Final decision can only be made by the Officers
and Board of Directors.
Associate Membership Information
One of the contributing factors which led a small group of artists
to organize The Allied Artists of America, Inc. in 1914, was the
need to make available to an increasing number of American artists
greater opportunities to exhibit their work in New York City. From
this initial beginning The Allied Artists of America has become
one of the most prestigious art organizations on the contemporary
American art scene.
The Associate Member plays a very important role in the functioning
structure of AAA by taking an active part in the affairs of the
Society. He or she is invited to attend the Annual Meeting when
their guidance in the operational field may be sought. An Associate
Member may hold the office of Treasurer or Assistant Treasurer and
in this elective office his or her voice and vote on the Board are
of much importance. An Associate Member who paints or sculpts may
submit work for exhibition to Juries of Selection without paying
an entry fee. Invitations to the private opening of the Annual Exhibitions
and copies of the AAA Newsletter will be sent to the Associate Member
by the Society. The Associate Membership card allows free admittance
to the demonstrations.
The Associate Members dues of $40.00 a year assists in furthering
the goals of AAA and enables the Society to offer increased awards
at the Annuals. Associate Members are listed in the catalog, which
they receive without charge. You can help us advance American art
by your participation in the Society as an Associate Member.
Please note: Your dues covers from January 1 through
December 31. Dues cards are mailed in January and should be mailed
together with your payment.
