$3000 PRIZE- ALDEN BRIAN MEMORIAL AWARD FOR TRADITIONAL LANDSCAPE - ENTER BY JUNE 15TH TO WIN

The $3000 Alden Bryan Memorial Award for Traditional Landscape is a distinguished award given annually by Vermont Community Foundation at the Allied Artists of America annual juried exhibition.


Alden Bryan (1913-2001) was originally from Missouri, Harvard-educated in economics, an avid sailor and tennis player who married Mary Taylor, (1906-1978), a sculpture student. Soon after their marriage they sailed into Gloucester Harbor, where they were introduced to working landscape artists. There, Bryan became interested in studying landscape painting. Among his best works, over 1000 were painted in Vermont.


After Mary passed away, Alden established the Mary Bryan Memorial Gallery in Jeffersonville, Vermont, to show the best Vermont and New England painters and is now in its 32nd year.
