RAYMOND SAMMAK Artist Statement Raymond Sammak began painting at the age of eight after a neighbor, who admired his drawings, began taking him for art lessons. At that early age, he studied with acclaimed realism artist, Sena Egg. He later studied with Henri Seneur and Kip Nielsen of The Pratt Institute. Over the years, inspired by old world masters and contemporary artists, Mr. Sammak’s style has evolved to encompass realism, ashcan, expressionism, abstract and portraiture. Mr. Sammak has exhibited his work extensively with Allied Artists of America at The Salmagundi Club in NYC, The Guild of Creative Art, The Monmouth Museum, The NJ Chapter American Artists Professional League as well as with numerous online art shows and galleries. Awards include: 2006 - Best In Show, Mixed Media Award, Merit Award, Mitchell Award-Acrylic, 1st Place Painting, Kajola Award- Realism, 5th Place Traditional Painting. Mr. Sammak recently completed a painting to help promote the upcoming feature film, TEAM MARCO, in which he also makes his screen acting debut. His work can be seen in many local exhibitions and online galleries as well as in numerous private collections.
