JUDY TAKACS
Best known for her Ohio Arts Council granted portrait series, Chicks with Balls: Judy Takács paints unsung female heroes, Takács holds a BFA from the Cleveland Institute of Art. A winner of 11 Best-In-Show Awards, she has exhibited at the Butler Institute, ArtNEO, MOCA Cleveland, Zanesville Museum of Art, Evansville Museum, Haggin Museum, Artists Archives of the Western Reserve, Salmagundi, and National Arts Clubs in NYC.
Recognized by the Portrait Society of America, Takács holds Signature Status at the Akron Society of Artists, Associate with Distinction at American Women Artists and elected membership with Allied Artists of America and Salmagundi and Catharine Lorillard Wolfe Art Clubs. A past Chair of Social Media for the Portrait Society, she is now Social Media Chair for Allied Artists of America. Takács’ contributions to the figurative art world are noted on Wikipedia.
Her Chicks with Balls portrait series, now 50 paintings, heads to its first Museum Solo show at the Zanesville Museum of Art in Ohio. Takács’ work has a decided feminist focus as she embarks on a Goddess series, reimagining mythological characters through a contemporary lens, hoping to create living, breathing souls on canvas to invite viewers to linger, connect and think.
