WALTER RAYMOND GARVER
Born:
Medina, New York August 29, 1927.
Education:
State University of New York at Buffalo, BFA 1955; studied with Charles
Burchfield in 1950; completed sixty hours of graduate study in Art History,
Education and German. Appointed art teacher at Amherst Senior High School,
Snyder, New York in 1958.
Subjects taught:
Art History, Drawing and Painting And Photography. Chairman of the Art Department. Retired in 1985.
Accomplishments:
Was Contributing Editor to The Artist’s Magazine from 1985 to 1999. Became Contributing Editor to Watercolor Magic Magazine in 1996. Paintings are included in numerous private and public collections. Member of Allied Artists of America, Audubon Artists, Buffalo Society of Artists, Copley Society of Boston and the National Watercolor Society. Recipient of many awards including the Gold and Silver Medals of Honor in the Audubon Artists Annual, the Gilmore and Romans Award in the Allied Artists of America Annual and the Bellinger Award in the Chautauqua National.
Work illustrated in the Best of Oil Painting and Splash.

One man shows at the Albright-Knox Art Gallery, Buffalo, New York and the Oxford Gallery, Rochester, New York.
