Celebrating Creativity: Highlights from the Opening Reception of the Allied Artists of America 112th Exhibition at the Reading Public Museum

The opening reception of the Allied Artists of America 112th Exhibition at the Reading Public Museum was a lively celebration of creativity, showcasing the impressive talents of artists from all over the world. This annual event not only emphasizes the variety of artistic expression but also strengthens community ties among artists and art enthusiasts.

Upon arriving at the museum, guests were welcomed by an atmosphere buzzing with excitement and anticipation. The exhibition featured an incredible variety of artworks, included paintings, sculptures, and numerous mixed media pieces. Each work told a unique story, inviting guests to explore different perspectives.

The afternoon kicked off with a wonderful hors d'oeuvre and drinks bar for the Allied Artists of America reception, as guests mingled, they had the chance to speak to each other directly. This is the wonderful thing about a live exhibition- nothing replaces seeing real art on the walls. Many attendees engaged in thoughtful conversations about the inspirations behind the artworks. For instance, Agnieszka Kotarska, an exhibiting artist who traveled to Pennsylvania from Spain, shared that her piece "Light Up Your Shadow", was inspired by her friend, dancer Yanelis Rodriguez. In her drawing Agnieszka shows twins who are two halves of a whole, twins that maintain the balance of life. These dialogues provided deeper insight into the pieces to enhance the experience.

Displayed at the exhibition was a broad range of styles and mediums, reflecting the dynamic nature of contemporary art. From abstract paintings that challenged the viewer's perceptions to realistic sculptures that captured deep human emotions, there was something for every taste to appreciate.

The Allied Artists of America has a long history of supporting artists. We offer over $45,000 in cash awards. Such dedication to nurturing new and established artists, highlights the organization's missions supporting artists in their careers.

At 2pm we presented the awards. Award winning artists received accolades for their remarkable works in the exhibition, with gold medal ($6000 cash award), silver medal ($4000 cash award), and bronze medal ($3000 cash award). We also presented the $5000 Audrey Love Award, which is a top award that can be won by any category.

The winners were chosen by awards juror, Dr. Tom Folk, a leading authority on Pennsylvania impressionists. This recognition celebrates not just individual achievements but also the collective talent present within the Allied Artists of America community.
