Gayle Maderia’s “Luminous Night,” a mysterious, moonlit seascape (oil on linen attached to aluminum panel), received the $3,000 Alden Bryan Memorial Medal Award for traditional landscape in Allied Artists of America's 110th juried exhibition. A 1992 graduate of the State University of New York, College at Purchase, Maderia’s prolific career includes exhibitions at the Wausau (Wisconsin) Museum of Contemporary Art; the Arnot Museum, Elmira, NY; and numerous awards and exhibitions at the Salmagundi Club, New York. She won the 2023 National Oil and Acrylic Painters’ Society’s Best of America Award of Excellence and had a solo exhibition in 2013 at the Foundation Gallery, New Orleans.
