NICK PATTEN'S AWARD WINNING LIGHT AND SHADOW PAINTINGS

Nick Patten, often described as an American Vermeer, grew up in Troy, New York, not far from Albany NY where he eventually completed a degree in Studio Art. As a young man, after college, he moved around the east coast from Nantucket Island, to Vermont. Eventually he moved to New York City where he worked in the NY art world for a day job while painting in his spare time.

He has had numerous solo exhibitions including a solo museum show, and has been awarded a number of prizes including 3 Best in Show awards throughout his career. His paintings can be found in private collections throughout the United States, Canada, and Europe. Public collections include the Cape Cod Museum of Art, the Mississippi Museum of Art, The Provincetown Art Association and Museum, the New York Public Library, the Print Club of Albany, and many other corporate and museum collections.
